    Vista Home Premium x64

    Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium - Licence and media - 1 PC - OEM - DVD - 64-bit - English - Ebuyer

I'm after moving up to Vista Home Premium x64. It will be installed from scratch (new build), as I'm currently running XP Home x32, will I have any problems installing my current software (e.g: Photoshop CS3, Office 2007, Painter X).

Another thing is will it be ok with the games I play (STALKER, Crysis, Blacksite etc) I understand that Vista is compatable with most things now (unlike when it was released) but I just thought Id ask

And is the link about a good deal?

    Cheers

    Re: Vista Home Premium x64

Seems like a good deal, i got my OEM X64 for about £60 from scan a few months ago.

The problems with Vista are over rated, iv never had any real issues and after 6 months iv never looked back on it. I say go for it!

I meant that you have to buy a piece of qualifying hardware at the same time to be eligible for the oem licence version (I'm assuming that you already have the stuff in "my system"?).

Ah i got ya. Yeah have it all.

So won't this come with a licence? Whats the licence for? Wouldn't I be using it legally if I don't have a licence for it?

EDIT: Yet Ebuyer says Licence & Media :S

    Re: Vista Home Premium x64

it comes with the licence/COA but in order to qualify to buy the oem/system builder version in the 1st place it is supposed to be sold with non-peripheral hardware.

(& I take it that you'll be getting free Hexus/SCAN shipping if you go with SCAN)

So does the system builder version have any benefits to it? The one on Ebuyer says system builder edition. And how do I get the 'Hexus/SCAN shipping'???

    Re: Vista Home Premium x64

the oem/system builder version advantage is that it's over £100 cheaper than full retail ...
The disadvantages are that it must be bought with hardware, that you don't get free MS support with it & that the licence is tied to 1 mobo (except in the case of replacement due to failure).

As for Hexus/SCAN free shipping http://forums.hexus.net/general-disc...le-online.html
