    Alternate software for 6g ipod

I've spent a fair bit of the day trying to get itunes to work for me (i'll open it and , although it shows up in task manager, nothing happens) but to no avail. So i'm looking for something else i can use to sync with an ipod. Winamp with the ml_ipod plugin might work but i don't know?

    any suggestions?

btw, i haven't got an ipod yet, but hope to soon

Winamp now has a built-in iPod plugin although the ml_iPod project still has more functionality to it.

Anapod explorer is a fantastic piece of software until you have any problems with it. It has online activation and the company never answer any emails when you get problems. No support at all which is a shame because the application makes iTunes look like the bloated malware that it is.

ah, didn't realise that. If i did use winamp to transfer my music i take it that only the .mp3 or .mp4 files would actually play? so i'd have to convert all my lossless and wma files?

thanks, i'll give it a shot and see how it turns out.

I take it that i'll still have to convert all my .wma/.ogg and other stuff to mp3 or m4a?

edit: can't do anything with it unless i have an ipod
