Best free Anti-Virus, best Browser, best Email client (News Groups not needed)

Thought I'd try something different from IE and Outlook Express.

    AVG

    Opera
Opera's email client M2 is very different in concept & I've never taken the time to really get to know it but I know people who love it.

Alternatively, Mozilla & it's email client.

PS. I'm assuming that you wanted the free bit to cover the browser & email client too

Firebird, Opera or MyIE2 are all great browsers. I am using Opera at the moment and getting on very well with it, very easy to use and set up.

    Free Virus would be AVG.

Dunno about the mail cilents. Has Buff said, Opera as one built in.

Browser - Firebird (new version out Monday 9th Feb)
Mail - Outlook (Thunderbird is good but it doesn't allow separate SMTP servers per account)
    Anti-Virus - AVG

best browser, Long live Firebird,Make sure u install using the windows installer of this site http://seb.mozdev.org/firebird, so that plugin install is easy for you, i.e java flash etc.

Have to be honest sill use outlook express beacuse i can access my webbased hotmail and lycos through it, much easier and faster to use then the actuall websites.

I use crazybrowser, based on IE so familiar and yet adds a few features like tabbed browsing and popup blocking which I couldn't live without.

    MyIE2 also does that

and like any IE-based browser, you can get a virus from a simple innocent-looking .JPG url

wasn't aware of that - got linkage?

been using myIE2 for a while and am pretty happy with it.

I just get annoyed when more than a significant ammount of sites go a bit pearshaped in opera :/

    My preferences:

AVG free - cause I'm too lazy to reinstall norton 2003 every 6 months for free subscriptions...
Outlook2003 - did have 2000 on student edition, but got office2003 on ym uni's site licence
Mozilla or Opera. Wanting to try FireFox sometime too.
