    Re: Kaspersky Internet Security

its great, shop around for a licence and download the latest version from there site.

i paid about £7 from ebay for a licence key (brought a few now) and never had a problem.

afaik it works fine with both vista's but i better let someone else with vista comment

saves the need to keep running spybot and adaware as it takes care of spyware, malware and the likes the cheap AV's dont cover (inc nortons)

you may as well take advantage of there 30 day trial to help u make ur mind up.

Personally, I've found it as good as any and better than many.

Not tried it with Vista, though.

    Re: Kaspersky Internet Security

I've used it for years, doesn't zap the comp unlike others i could mention.lol

Only thing to be aware of is on first install it'll do a complete indepth file scan that takes a couple of hours, let it do this as it's cataloging the system to watch for changes. after this it only needs to scan for changed files. unless you ask it to do a manual scan at a later date.

    Re: Kaspersky Internet Security

I've been running it for a few months now, I do notice a performance hit on runtime scans compared to AVG. Works though and doesn't cause bluescreens, unlike the firewall I was using before.

TBH I think it's overkill for a clued-up user to run AV all the time, but it won't perform on-demand scans unless you have it running.

    Re: Kaspersky Internet Security

I've been using Kaspersky for quite a few months now with Vista (32bit) , that is up until last week when it failed to stop a trojen (software was upto date). I have to say that I am now very disspointed with Kaspersky and so have now started to look for a replacement.

I am currently running a trail version of Norton's 2008 suite, but with a boot up time of approximately 6 minutes this looks like a no go as well.

That's why! Trojen removed all the bookmarks saved in Firefox and according to Kaspersky's website this trojen would have removed all passwords and personal information saved as well. But as it is, I do not save anything like this on the computer, thankfully.
