How do i get rid of windows 7?

Well i installed a fresh copy of windows awhile ago as the original was on a slower drive and i wanted a nice clean working system. I had to leave the old system intact as i had to finish downloading programs for university (from MSDNAA before anyone asks! Most were finished so i thought id keep it then move them). Anyways, i finally got round to trying to delete this old partition but it wont format? It keeps saying windows is unable to format, also stuff like i dont have permission.

Im a bit baffled as to why i cant format the drive, from reading on the web it seems that windows assigns itself as the uber admin where as i was only an admin. Now ive tried steps to remove this and yet everytime it appears i dont have the rights to actually make changes.

    Any ideas?

If you don't have the Windows disk, burn it (the disk ISO) to a DVD or use the MS USB boot utility to create a bootable flash drive.

Boot from BIOS and format it from the Windows 7 installation tool.

Re: How do i get rid of windows 7?

Well i had the windows 7 disk to hand so used that, deleted the partition and then had to fix boot mgr , all sorted now and it seems to have fixed my security problem... where i had to use ctrl+alt+del to use to the task manager while logging in, just to let it continue logging in haha.

    Thanks .

Oh and cat, that was my first idea until i realized i needed the data on 2 other partitions on the disk
