    Free Photo Tagging/Organising Software

Can anyone recommend a free photo organiser for windows that's capable of tagging photos multiple times and a search function?

It must be lightweight, free and preferably either open source or made by someone big like google. Photo sharing capabilities aren't essential, but could be handy sometimes I guess.

Does google's picasa do what I need it to do?

I don't have many photos right now, but I thought I'd better organise it while I still can .

Let me know what you think.

EDIT - I'm downloading picasa now just to try it out. If anyone knows of anything better, let me know.

Picasa is good, another option is photoshop album starter edition.

I like the location tags you can put on picasa... I did a load of shots down at avon mouth working on ecological mitigation on a rine excavation and I could put markers on almost the exact location I'd taken the shot very handy for work!

I believe hotmail comes with a kind of photo album to? or there is a similar system if you have an O2 mobile phone or O2 broadband.

Flickr FTW - its not free (~£20 per year)....but I love it :-)

I've got Tagged, Geo-tagged photos online and since it's all online if my computer goes pop one day they are still online in all their glory and I can just carry on.
