    Realplayer - friend or foe?

Been using realplayer for downloading & playing streaming media, and I like it for that purpose, as its a one click deal kinda thing.

I don't use it for ripping or burning CDs though as I am used to using Windows Media player and I prefer that interface.

My Security software (Kaspersky IS 7.0) has classified it as riskware, I know this isn't an issue in itself but was wondering what other peoples opinions were on this app.

I never did like all of the advertising that came with it. There is an alternative
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.

Re: Realplayer - friend or foe?

Real player is one of the most awful pieces of junkware crap of all time.

I absolutely refuse to have it on my computer.

Re: Realplayer - friend or foe?

might look like spam but another vote for real alternative here. the more recommendations it gets the more people will begin to use it and see what they've missed out on. This should be one of the main progs in the "What windows apps do you avoid" Thread.

Foe definitely. Can't stand Real Player from past experiences. Real Alternative is brilliant in comparison. It just plays Real media and otherwise you don't know its there.
