    Sygate Replacement

Well since the long demise of Sygate and the fact that since that day I've been running behind the Firewall on my router I've not kepted up with what's going on in the fw world.

Is there a firewall out there that is light, none system hogging and doesn't require 50+ process's to run

am not after anti spyware, anti virus or any of the crud that seems to come with the more commercial packages

    any advice ?

I asked this same question only last month - was one of the best Firewalls about IMO

I need to reply to that thread really

    Re: Sygate Replacement

Running it now, while it looks pretty and seems to be doing the job i need, it lacks certain things that Sygate gave us....

Might be tempted to put my old version back on

    Re: Sygate Replacement

As I said in that topic I'm still using Sygate, no reason to change if it still works. I've had a look at the newer alternatives but they're all too complicated or slow. One of the Norton Enterprise firewalls is supposed to be the Sygate replacement (have a search at wildersecurity, there was a good reason I didn't try it myself but I don't recall it).
