Symantec endpoint - recommended for this setup.

    Me again

Decided to update the anti virus at work as we have changed most our machines, we have 5 pc's, there a mixture of 2 windows 2003 standard server, 2 xp pro 32bit and 1 xp pro 64bit.

We would rather use the same product on all the machines and endpoint for 5 users is very reasonably priced.

I know most people hate Norton, does anyone know of any similar products that can be used on this variety of machines, cheaper the better.
In the internets, no one can hear you sarcasm.

If you're going to use version 11 of Symantec EndPoint Protection Manager (the latest), make sure you install the Maintenance Release 2 package.

There were some serious bugs in the RTM version. Actually, there still seem to be bugs with MR2. I don't know, we gave up trying to fix the RTM version and have just embarked on an MR2 installation.

All I can say is, cheapest does not necessarily = BEST.

e.g. there's a notorious "SEPM fills up the server hard disk" issue:

Before that, we were running McAfee Total Virus Defense. That had its own set of issues, but TBH nothing major, as long as you installed the latest VirusScan patch and set the correct virus scanning exclusions as recommended by Microsoft on the various Windows Server roles (e.g. domain controllers, Exchange servers).
