    Ubuntu 8.04 Wubi install

    Hey all,

I really like this feature but I have had a couple of problems with it and I was wondering if anyone else has encountered the same thing.

I've installed it and removed in twice since I got it (downloaded it the day it came out, fanboi ), my reason for removing it is that after a while it seemed to fail to boot unless I used recovery mode. I think it may have some thing to do with my external hard drive as it would begin having this issue after I had used it (I put my music on it so i have the library for either rhythm box or WMP depending on which OS I boot to). could it be a device dismounting issue? its rather odd, I can't really give any more information than that there doesn't appear to be any errors it jsut gets stuck on the loading screen with the progress bar moving from side to side.

Anyone else had wubi install issues? or, long shot, shed any light on something I might be doing to upset it?

Can't help with the specific problem, but I just couldn't get Wubi to work at all; didn't matter whether it was U- or Kubuntu, whether I ran it from disc, ran it with an ISO in the same folder, whatever, it crapped out. Shame, as it was something I really wanted to work.

    Re: Ubuntu 8.04 Wubi install

I suppose its a fairly new feature so there'll be some bugs to iron out.

I'm going to have a go at it again later on, perhaps with Kubuntu instead got the ISO hanging around somewhere.
