well this has been annoying me for awhile now but still yet to find anything useful on the internet. Any1 know of a program that can limit the speed at which my drive reads? because the noise is way to loud.
thanks.

any chance you know how to use nero drive speed? xD downloaded it but all i managed todo was test it. Didnt want to make a new thread but im having an annoying issue now with watching a film, was happily watching mission impossible 3 on my computer(using xp) and went down stairs to get a beer and was away for a bit, came back all played fine then it all went green and red like artifacts (like the card overheating) but it can be the card as it was only 50C and not overclocked etc, i tried it again after i rebooted(it kept going black and then back to desktop for a second then again >.<) and the same issue happened at the same point roughly, gunna try it in Ubuntu but was wondering if you or any1 else could give their view on it.
Sorry for the long post.
edit: the dvd wont even run in ubuntu, it says "can not read source" or something along those lines, am i just doing something wrong? havent really used ubuntu so cant tell.
Drive speed is pretty self explanatory to use (or certainly was the last time I used it)

If you can't figure out what to do of that screenshot, you need a slap
Ubuntu reading issue will most likely be because the disk is CSS protected. You need software to decrypt it.
I play dvds using xine and the libdvdcss package. The legality of that decoder is 'dubious' (certainly in the US) so I won't post any links - but Google will be your friend.
