    Vista and memory

I was playing a little COH last night when it became really slow and started to crash. I checked my ram and it was running at 4Gb the max i have installed. So what programs services do i need to get rid of that's not needed all the time? Desktop manger was not running as it shuts down when I'm playing games so any ideas how i can save some ram please thanks.

    Re: Vista and memory

I'm guessing unless the game you were running was using 4gb or you were running loads of memory hungry programs at once i would say one of the programs you run has a major memory leak...

    Re: Vista and memory

try using a tool called process explore (you can download it free from MS).

This lets you see graphs showing the Private Bytes which is generally where apps leak.

will help narrow down the cause
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)

The blackviper site offers guidance on what services can be disabled.

I've only used it under XP, but it does list vista as well.
