    Xp Sp3 / Vista X64 ---bt Broadband

    Morning all

Over the weekend I decided to put SP3 on the computer. All was fine until I realised broadband wasn't working, Limited or no connection, I recall.

Calling BT was fine, I wasnt in a queue for ages and they were polite....though they didnt solve the problem.

In the end I ended up restoring it back to SP2 and reloading the software.

Vista x64 has never worked with BT broadband. Same message 'limited or no connection'

Anyone with a similar experience, or even a work around?

    XP Home 32bit
    Vista Premium x64
    Edimax EW-7728In wireless card
    Bt Home Hub

    Thanks

Strange , Can't think of any reason that your hub will not work with sp3 .I run XP and loaded that sp3 patch not that long ago and had no problems apart from my own doing i.e. press the wrong button and now m/s stuff tells me that my machine is not protected- obviously it is not seeing the Kaspersky stuff. Take it you tried to reload your bb software after sp3 patch .

Are you using some kind of connection management software, such as one BT try and get you to use which comes on the CD with the hub?

You dont need to use these. I have a Vista 64 and XP SP3 PC (at my mothers) that work fine with the BT hub and BT broadband - connected directly and wireless to the hub.

Failing that, could it be your WiFi card that actually not work - what is actually giving you the 'limited or no connection' message? Could it be a wireless card driver issue?
