Opera Question - Moving the Tabs Bar

I love the Opera UI except for one thing...I hate how the Tabs are above the address bar, and I can't figure out how to move them below the address bar (but still be at the top of the screen...you know, like how Firefox and IE7 do?). Is this even possible? All I've been able to do is move it to the very bottom of the screen, but I found that to be quite cumbersome.

Any help or answers to whether this can be done, and if so, how, would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I suppose...but still, who the heck thought it up? It even makes the UI look worse (you can see how much better things would flow if they were switched).

It might well be. I guess I'm just too used to how IE7 and FireFox have the tabs below the address bar (though I hated how IE7 defaults to putting the Menu Bar between the address bar and the tabs, but a quick registry hack fixed that. ). I suppose I was hoping there was some hack or something to change this too...

Doh - of course - each tab is a separate 'window' so has to have its own address bar - so it is entirely logical that it is where it is - it is tab-centric - not browser-centric (if that makes sense)!

There is a way to get the tab bar below the addy bar - it's somewhere on Opera forums (servers down atm) - possibly by Tamil, as he seems to be the fount of all knowledge re. Opera.

I did look at it but, as I'm happy with the default setup, didn't pursue it.

Thanks! I had been unable to find it myself, and had been thinking this thread was pretty much dead. Much appreciated!

I just like my tabs below the addy bar because a) I'm used to it, and b) it makes it easier for me when I'm switching between 3 different browsers (IE7, FF3, and Opera 9.51) when testing my website for coding consistency. You, sir, are a life-saver.

You're welcome. I like to have certain layouts; for instance, panels in Opera on the right - just seems easier to read pages. Slight disadvantage: SharpReader's RSS site-list is on the left, same as most other apps., but it doesn't bother me too much.

To get ToolTips in Opera the Status Bar has to be disabled, so I have the Navigation Bar below the Address Bar with loadsaicons on it - so 2 bars below the tabs.
