ok,
maybe someone could tell me whats going on, cos i dont get it...
i installed windows 2003 onto my 'spare' 80gb sata drive, and left windows 2000 on my 60gb ide drive... as not to stuff anything up, i unplugged my ide drive during the 2003 install... anyhow, it installed ok, installed the drivers for mobo etc, turned system off, plugged the ide harddrive in.. and although it appears in device manager, its not there in 'my computer', and if i right click->properties in device manager, it wants me to populate the drive... will populating it just basically wipe all the partitions on there and create a new one, cos thats not good if all my data is on there.... so changed the boot order in the bios, and now i'm back on the ide drive... and that can see the 80gb sata drive with windows2003 on.. why not the other way around??!![]()
cheers
mark
