    Which Linux distro...

    Hey
Just built a new PC, running Vista Home Premium x64 atm.
I have 2x250GB in RAID0, so it appears as one virtual disk.
Can I still partition this as I would just one drive?
    And the main question....
    Which Linux distribution?
I'm no coding expert, and I'd have no idea of any of the commands or anything....but I would like to try Linux....an easy to use one, that is.
Preferably one that I can test as a live CD first would be useful also.
My specs are: Intel Q6600, 4GB PC6400 RAM, DFI Blood Iron P35 TR2L, 9800GTX...also have an Audigy SE soundcard. Are there drivers for the chipset, GPU and soundcard?
    Thanks

If you want easy, Ubuntu will probably be your first port of call. And yes, your chipset, sound card, and graphics card is supported. Your (I'm assuming) MatrixRAID array should work if you create a partition for it before booting the Installer CD.

    Re: Which Linux distro...

i don't think ubuntu's installer natively supports fake raid arrays. iirc fedora is the most advanced on that front

    Re: Which Linux distro...

Most likely, since it was a RedHat employee who wrote the mess. The kernel devs really should have kept ataraid support in 2.6.
