I've never tried it so I don't know if this is any good?

I think the Download now button is a free trial.

Possibly a silly question, but why did you have an important mail in your Deleted Items? This is a genuine question btw, as it never ceases to amaze me that people at work use their Deleted Items as a storage space (same with Recycle Bin) and when you suggest that they delete some of the 4Gb of deleted items they look at you like some sort of heretic.

If it is a web mail service (I don't use it) you have will have deleted the e mail from the service provider - so its gone for good.

If you are using a client to download e mail from a POP3 server to your computer, and you deleted it locally - itmay be possible to recover it, but it depends on the mail client, and your level of expertise, and how much time/expense you are prepared to go to.

This doesnt help you retrieve your currently lost file but i change my mail store to a seperate drive so that if i ever have problems with my OS drive i know i wont lose my e mails. I then backup my email storage fie to a usb stick or a backup drive once a week so at least i wont lose everything if something were to happen.

hotmail would be gone, outlook might have a chance to recover as files are stored on harddrive
