Question Is there anyway to install OEM Vista on a new machine?

I know the official answer but has anyone found a way around it.

Has anyone had any luck calling MS?, what if I say my old motherboard has died and the same model is no longer available?

You're not going to like this, but...

If you were planning to upgrade you should have bought retail. That's all I have to say on the matter.

    Indeed it is.

It seems from the way you ask the question, jallsey, that you're deliberately trying to find "a way around" the licence conditions. Like it or not, doing that turns the copy you have into an unauthorised copy and that, as far as we're concerned is software piracy.

If there are ways round it, you won't find them here. It is not something we'll permit.
