Synching my mobile device(HTC TYTN II) with Windows Vista x64

The hinge has broken and its time to call the insurance and get a replacement. Problem is i upgraded to vista recently and have never managed to get it to sync up with outlook, or even windows contacts for that matter!

Has anyone had any luck who can take me through anything im missing? Why oh why they got rid of the perfectly fine and straight foward active sync i will never understand.

BTW i have also tried using google sync but that sent back the error message of
your account in microsoft exchange does not have persmission to synchronize with your current settings. support code 0x851010004
Edit: - got contacts working with Google synch so balls to microsoft and 'mobile device centre'

Re: Synching my mobile device(HTC TYTN II) with Windows Vista x64

It used to work just fine for me, but then I moved to a hosted exchange account so everything is pulled down over the air. I do get sync errors now, but i think thats because it is trying to sync to the old profile which doesn't exist any more.

Sorry I can't be any more help.

Do you not think that mobile device centre is just insanely limited in comparison to active synch which was sooo straight forward and functional?
