    Word 2003 - Macro ignored

    Mornin'

    Our Mailorder system has a function that opens a specific document in word, and runs a macro that takes the address information from the active record on the mailorder system, and shoves it into the specified fields in the word document. It runs something like...
    c:\program files\microsoft office\office\winword.exe supercool.doc /mMACRO

    This works fine for windows 98 machines and office 2000/97. However, I have a new machine running windows XP and Office 2003. The document opens alright, but the macro just will not run (not even a warning). When I manually go in and run the macro, it does it no problems.

    I'm not entirely sure what I am missing here, any ideas?

    Have a look at this doc:

    It sounds like you don't get a prompt if you have an unsigned macro and the security level is set to high.

    I did have a brief look at security settings, but its tough to have a proper look when the user needs his PC I've got his PC for half an hour at lunch, Ill look then.

    Is your path correct? I just created a new document with a simple macro which displays a message box. To get it to run I created a batch file with the following line in:

    Code:
    "c:\program files\microsoft office\office10\winword.exe" test1.doc /mMACRO1
    When I tried to run it the first time nothing appeared. I then opened a cmd window and ran the batch file again. It told me it could not find Winword (your path had office not office10). I changed the path and all was hunky dory.
