yep thats about it.
If the old one is IDE is will almost certainly try and be the primary drive so the pc will attempt to boot off it.
If this is the case for IDE or a SATA drive then you need to enter the bios and change the boot priority order so your new PC's drive is number 1.
grand, thanks for the help, just didn't want it to boot off old drive incase it fecked up the settings when i put it back in old pc
you can also buy a mobile rack and place your old hdd into it [that's what i did]
or you could network up your old pc, transfer to USB, burn to CD/DVD... as well as the external USB/Firewire connection for your old HD, or to plug it directly into your new PC...
Assuming it is IDE, you may have to fiddle with jumper settings for Primary/Slave... unless its set to Auto.
SATA is easier.

You can either install the drive as a secondary... or use a USB/Firewire external enclosure
