    Hd-dvd to normal dvd?

    Is it possible to rip a hd-dvd to normal dvd? obviously in standard definition, reason being i have some films on hd-dvd that my dad would like to watch on the tv in the front room but its standard def and i dont have a laptop that supports hd-dvd playback. ANy software recommendations?

    BTW: just incase, keep this legal like no "download it from here as a rip" etc. If this isnt legal, please close.

    is it? ok lol, thought your allowed to make a back up of a dvd and since hd-dvd special features is standard def then it would just be backing it right?

    Thats what many people think, but under UK copyrite law, there is no provision for making backup copies of DVDs or CDs.

    The only thing you are allowed to make a single backup copy of is software.
