    Weird flash behaviour

    Anyone using FF3 noticing certain flash ads have a penchant for appearing in the wrong places on a page.

    I'm noticing it on various sites, including HEXUS, so of course I'd like to fix it if other people are experiencing it too.

    Thing is, I have no idea why it's happening.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Re: Weird flash behaviour

    Can't say I've seen it happen myself.

    This is on my work machine running XP and my home machine running ubuntu and windows.

    After thinking about it though, I know that FF does something differently in 3.0 than in 2.0 (not flash, but with positioning/sizing of stuff on the page), but I can't think what this is right now...

    Re: Weird flash behaviour

    some of the flash ads on HEXUS.gaming are (main banner ads) positioned far right instead of central and also on the mainpage, but it doesn't seem to do it on the forums.... (for me anyway)

    FF3.0.1

    edit: actually it's like it in IE7 too, are they meant to be, cos i can't say i've noticed them right justified before?
    edit: actually looking at all of the pages they all seem to be aligned to the right... mebbe i just got used to the location of the forum 1, but the location stays the same in both browsers with the occasional ad going centralised but it does it in IE7 for the same ad

    Hapens in Opera as well.

    Well, at least I know it used to. I've just updated to 9.52 and I can't remember if i've seen it since the update or not. I'll let you know if i do see it though.

    Re: Weird flash behaviour

    I can deal with something moving around a few pixels, or not observing margins/padding, alignment, floating or something.

    But when it's a case of "oh, you've decided to load all the way down there this time", it's a bit "FFS".

    Re: Weird flash behaviour

    Especially when it is obscuring a list of threads or forums.

    Happened in Opera when you hit back and the page went it previous position, like the last post in the thread. Then the advert would appear offset from the top of the browser windows pretty much to the same depth as it would be from the very top of the page.

    Does that make sense?

    The ad would then stay there no matter what scrolling you did.

    Re: Weird flash behaviour

    Yeah I know what you mean.

    Problem I'm having through is the ads completely move. It's not a vertical offset, it's an "ini-mini-miney-mo" offset.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();
