    64 bit 4 or 8 gig

    I was wondering if anyone has actually tried and found a difference with 4 and 8 gig in vista 64 bit. I have read a reviews and various sites and have not really found anything very conclusive. Some things seem to get a small benefit form more ram. I will be using it for almost entirely gaming.

    Many thanks

    Poo

    Can't see many games needing that much, or seeing a great benefit from it, unless you like leaving every other program open in the background while playing a game.

    In a year or two I expect some games in "extreme" mode will benefit. Question is whether it's more cost effective to do that upgrade when required, rather than right now.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Only thing that will really benefit from 8GB of RAM will be SuperFetch (and it's quite lovely having pretty much everything SuperFetched).

    Overkill? Oh yes. Worth it? Not really. Improvement over 4GB? Yup.
