Sorry, basically been trying to get TV card working, its on a 32bit Vista, drivers install fine, VMC detects the card and scans and detects the channels, but once you actually try to watch the channels, it doesnt work, comes back with data unaivble and no signals.
It's just a simple Freecom DVB-T usb stick, works fine on other software tho.
The other software being?
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
cyberlink powercinema (which is only a trial version) works on progdvb and mediaportal too, but those too are buggy.
ON their site it's not listed as being compatible with Vista. Not Microsoft's fault...... it's Freecom's fault.
Freecom = Fail
I dont see how its Freecoms fault, the Tv stick works perfectly fine on other software, flawless on PowerCinema and Kaffiene, just doesnt work on VMC which itself has a poor combaitility list, Freecom dont make the software, Micrisoft do, and they should make there compatibility database to fit most tv cards and not a selective few.
Not really. MCE works with any BDA driver - that's the entire point of the BDA, not to have a 'list' of pre-approved cards that work with MCE.
If Vista had issues with the BDA like you are describing, it would have been known about well by now.
As harsh as this sounds - Don't buy a cheap TV tuner and expect not to have problems. There is a reason the Freecom can be had for ~£20 and the well known cards cost >£50![]()

Is it that one?
If so, it doesn't list Vista as being supported even though there appears to be a driver.
You are using the BDA driver aren't you? This is the only one MCE will work with
Sadly though, USB TV cards are notorious for being troublesome and having a bad signal.

There is your problem - its the drivers. Its a known issue with this device.
I had the exact same issue with the offsets on my Terratec 2600Dti, but with a driver update it was sorted.
Try the latest drivers, if it doesn't work, buy from a company that writes proper drivers![]()
looney (13-09-2008)
Its actually a common problem with the card, did a google search, and the card isnt made by Freecom, its an OEM, which loads of other brands use too.
Also I didnt buy it either, have had tv stick for well over a year, nearly two years now and was given as gift for helping someone set up there system, it cost £50 back then from PC World, so wasnt exactly cheap
Might need to look into buying a new card![]()
Yep thats the one, it has Vista drivers (and yep im using bda drivers) for it which works with other software on Vista, so i was hoping it would also work VMC! which appears not, will have to stick with progdvb or mediaportal
btw i dont have any signal problems, it works flawlesslywith other softwares
hauppage cards are decent
