I've been running Vista x64 ultimate prettymuch since it was released, and up till today it has been problem free. The only real issue i've ever had was with my X-Fi drivers, but that's not Vista's fault.
Anyhoo, tonight when i switched on my gaming rig it all went pete tong for one reason or another, and i thought (in hindsight, somewhat stupidly), i know, i'll do a reinstall! I'd backed up midweek as usual, so no worries there, just to be safe I backed up my profile in safe mode & away I went. Vista installed in a matter of minutes on a nice pristine formatted drive.
Still, pain that it is i have a service pack disk somewhere, but can i find it? NO!Now Vista's merily downloading 66 'essential' updates, let alone the non essential ones, but the esentials come out at 251.9megs.
omg. How long is this going to take on my sluggish Virgin Media ADSL connection....
