    Need an anti-virus pls

hi. recently i came across the deadly "Trojandownloader:Win32/Renos" spyware. i was able to clean it using a combined Ad-aware/Windows Defender/Norton Security Scan effort. now, i think it was eradicated but i feel it might re-appear or make a comeback.

what i need now is the best anti-virus software(s) out there. any sugestions please....?

    Avast!
    http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

It has an explanation mark at the end of it, but even if it didn't I would give it one

All the best free anti virus programs go up and down the ratings charts constantly, but there are a few that are always near the top and Avast is as good as any. Everyone has their favourites, and I've tried lots and most of them I am happy with, but I just settled with Avast! for one reason or another and it's really good. It also does some things that some of them don't.

Also, it is very bad to install two virus programs on the same computer, but you can install one (like Avast!) and then you can do various free online scans which scan your computer from the internet. Seeing as no anti virus program finds 100% of viruses (virii?), it's more like 98%, then you can cover all bases by doing an online scan too. You can even do a couple of online scans. So install your free anti virus (like Avast!), and then use one, or both, of these:

    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
    and
    http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

Also, besides viruses, make sure you have anti spyware too. I find that using both "SpyBot", and "AdAware" on your PC regularly will cover most bases. They are both free, and you can find them on google.

    Re: Need an anti-virus pls

For a free Anti Virus program i have found Avira very good.

Check out the website here : http://www.avira.com/en/pages/index.php

I had Avast and AVG. both very heavy applications. This is light , fast and seems to be every bit as good ( safety wise ) as these too.

But I currently use Kaspersky 2009 as i was handed a key from a dear friend. Otherwise i would still be using Avira.
