Where are all you Hexus folders

Have you looked at the amount of inactive folders in the team? I know some are unused duplicate accounts, but still, there's a lot fallen by the wayside

Credit crunch biting or just didn't get round to re-installing etc?

Anyway, BIG BIG BIG thanks to all the regular folders, large and small, it all helps!

I used to use that, it worked except for making the gpu make a high pitched noise. But when the weather started heating up, the temps got too high for me so I stopped that too. Maybe, I'll restart that in the winter, but it seems a shame to waste the quad cpu power while gpu folding because the smp client is too buggy

The SMP client was woefully crap on my dual 939 system and kept crashing out and I removed it as it was causing squeezecentre to stutter like a mofo when streaming mp3's to the squeezebox.

I had to stop folding completely due to the SMP client issue's. Worked great for months and then nothing. Moved to the new client and that worked for all of 4 days and then that stopped reporting back the results which was like that after three installs and setup's and two weeks.

When they release another SMP client that's stable I will start to fold again

It's certainly easier if your employer is a large media giant with several spare dual quad-core Macs that you can run the SMP client on and not have to pay elec. bill yourself ...

If I change jobs, I wonder how long it'll take them to notice the unusual processes firing at 11pm?

Soon as I get my computer working again I shall join the hexus fold of folders. Assuming I don't suffer issues with the clients as described above

I really like the GPU folding tbh.

I am running a single 4870 and I am in the top 4 producers. I was getting insane temps on the card (even at idle it was 80 deg) so I changed the fan speed manually. Think I have it on 31% now and it never goes above 65deg on full load and is not especially noisy. The only problem I have with it is remembering to turn it off during games but even then I have not really noticed any difference (maybe it disables when launching a full screen app, I dunno). I also have a Q6600 that I was running as well, but since I stopped using both the GPU client has really come in to its own and produces far more than the SMP or SMP+GPU2.

I just put my new HD4870 in & installed the gpu client. Will only be on a few hours a day tho.

A few hours a day will still be 1000 points probably GPU folding is the way forward!

I think it was Will who has a 4850 folding for 5hours a day getting over 1000 points so with the 4870 I would expect 3 or 4 hours to net you a similar total.
