    LED display on my HTPC is wonky

    Hi all I built my HTPC today. It was mostly a pain in the bum but I managed to do it in the end. I am pretty happy with it up and running now, but there is one issue, and that is the LED display.

    It's an Antec Fusion and there is a nice little LED display. It seems to work great, but the left side of it low and the right side is high, and there is a gap around the edge with light shining through. Looks pretty bad. It works, but it looks bad. Usually I would just return it for a new case, but I have built everything in it and I would really like to not have to take all the components out of it and then build it all over again... Argh.

    Anyway I took the little drive cage out from behind it, to see if I could straighten it with a screwdriver or something, but it seems that the entire display is enclosed in a sealed little case and I can't see any way to get in, and there is one screw near it but I took that off and it didn't seem to make anything lose. So I can't get in it.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks =)

    Its bad news I am afraid.

    The LCD is a self contained unit and as such if it has an alignment fault, backlight fault or matrix fault, its not something you can repair yourself.

    As much as it is a pain, you will need to contact the supplier for options - which will probably involve a return of the case - unless antec can supply you with a replacement LCD unit which it will be worth asking them or your supplier.

    Argh I thought as much. I looked at the back and it looks pretty enclosed and then I realised it's probably made that way to keep dust out and stuff. Oh well.

    Thank you for the reply Ed Omega. I need to decide if I'll just put up with it, or get a replacement.

    Thanks again.
