Have just installed a 64bit version Vista. It only sees drive C and a dvd drive D. Nowhere on installing did it ask about partions. There are 3 HDDs installed. The bios sees them all but Vista no. I am sure i can't see the wood for the trees![]()

is it a new build?
i.e. have the drives ever been used?
if not, they need formatting:
goto start-right click my computer-manage-storage- and then format the drives that need formatting
HTH
Vista definitely does ask about partitioning when you install: http://www.techrepreneur.com/wp-cont...epartition.jpg
Your best bet is, yes, to use "Computer Management" to format them now.
I'm sure it never did but maybe I blinked
Followed the advice of TAKTAK and its now merrily formatting the drives.
Was very surprised how quickly Vista loaded, nothing like the hours XP etc took.
Thanks guys
Had the same problem when i installed new 640gb sata vista didn't see it till i formatted it using "Computer Management" then all was well
thats because when you get a new drive, it has no file system structure on it.
hence why it is not shown in the normal places, the normal places (my computer) show logical drives (you can have more than 1 logical drive on a physical drive).
so by formatting it you give the drive a structure to store things.
