Removing windows messenger

Ive uninstalled Messenger via the control panel yet when Outlook loads there it is again , anyone know how I can perminatly remove it?

MSN messenger, or Windows messenger?

Tell outlook not to use it. they'll be something in Tools, options, (depending on version, but I'm guessing XP) - enable messenger in Outlook.

Or you can completely disable it using a Local Group policy, or even unistall it completely (add/remove program simply "hides" it)

click on run and type this;

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

just be aware that removing windows messenger stops you from requesting/accepting remote assistance requests.

Hmmm.. But stopping remote assistance plugs a security hole, and this is a fairly pointless feature anyway. As nothing cannot be fixed locally. Just get an expert to come to the PC !
