Thanks, will give it a go![]()
You bar steward.
It makes powerdvd and mediaportal and everything else stop working with the remote. You have to manually map remote keys to keyboard keys to get them working again. It would take hours to set up. I gave up after an hour or so.
Then when I removed and reinstalled old remote driver it still didn't work. I had to do a system restore.
However, this does the job. I think I will purchase it
Thanks for the suggestion anyway. It does actually work, but is more pain than it is worth. I only need to map one or two buttons to batch files...
Sorry mate, never used it, just had a look through a list on the MediaPortal site
Glad you got something though.
Oh, have you looked on here: http://www.thegreenbutton.com/ ?
Its OK Funkstar, it was worth a try. It does do the job that I needed, its just that the hacked drivers mean you have to manually configure each button for each app.
Now my HTPC/NAS setup is finally complete
Turn on HTPC. Push remote button to WOL NAS box. Watch away in mediaportal/powerdvd. Push remote button to turn off NAS (plink ftw). Then remote button to turn off HTPC. Awesome - now I am keyboard free![]()
SiM this is kinda easy, i could teach you to write a tool to do this quite easily.
I did something similar a while back that performed macros depending on the application it was in. I'll have a looksee for it.
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
can't find it....
its really easy to do, do you need the ability to disable/enable the remote key for certain apps?
Ie if you use the 0 key, you might want that to work as a 0 in MCE but in Explorer have it open up winamp or something?
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
Well the PC loads straight into mediaportal. From there I want to be able to run a batch file using the remote. I need to assign one remote button to WOL the server, and another to shutdown it.
That is the problem.
I have set up the batch file with a variable saying "Are you sure you want to shutdown Ubuntu?" to avoid shutting down if accidentally sitting on the remote lol
With intelliremote it does work. I load the batch file with the * or # button then I press 1, then select to run the command or 2, then select to cancel. But if it is simple enough to do this without buying the software then great
When in PowerDVD or in mediaportal I need the remote to function completely as normal (except the two custom buttons).
Other customised buttons for activating AnyDVD would be helpful too, but I guess if I can run a batch file I will be able to open or close AnyDVD too...
Isn't there an "execute script" plugin for media portal?
I'll look in a while when i catch up on their forums.
