    IE help

I have a problem with IE being able to connect to the internet , after running diagnostic it tells me that the problem is windows firewall and that i need to check the settings on the HTTP , HTTPC and FTP . I have added all these ports to the exceptions list manually but IE still wont connect even though firefox works fine , any help would be great cheers

About 75% of internet users have that problem. Having IE connecting to the internet is indeed a problem .

Seriously though, are you running through a proxy, and if so, is it set? Or are you not running through a proxy, and if so, is it not set? Also, try turning friendly error messages off through the advanced internet options so you get a proper error message - that usually tells you more.

If all else fails, it might be worth doing a quick virus scan, just in case.

thanks for the reply , checked the diagnostic log and just found HTTP: Error 12029 and HTTPS: Error 12029 which after googling just seem to be standard unable to connect error messages ? Ran anti virus and no probs and my laptop runs IE fine on the same wireless network , cheers

    Re: IE help

You sure it's nothing to do with a proxy setting? Unless you know otherwise, this should probably be left blank.

Apart from that though, I'm out of ideas so good luck .
