Windows compressed files.

A month or two ago i ran of out of disk space. I was in the middle of winding up 18months working during my placment and busy as anything so left it in its 99.85 full state simply intill i had some time to deal with it. Ie, moved back to uni, which i now have, and stick another disk in.

However in the mean time XP seams to have taken it appon itself to start compressing random files that ive not used for a while.

Which is fine, but now i have loads of space, that hdd is only about 50% full, and i want it to uncompress them all!!

Will it do this itself given time, like it did before, or can i make it do it now.

The 'use compression on this hdd' box is unchecked as it always had been but theres still loads of files in blue. And O&O shows about 50% of the disk to be compressed.

IM sure it somthing simple, but i damed if i can fine anything on it on google.

Select all folders on the drive, right click properties -> advanced -> compress...

Untick the thing and press ok and it will give you the option to apply to all files on the drive.

Right, thats it then is it?
- The box is unchecked, so i checked it and only applied it to the few files, then unchecked it and applied to all. Its just working on that now, so we'll see!
