    Video editing - watermark/logo

    Hi,

I'm wondering, are there any video editing applications with which I can add-on a little watermark/logo onto the start/end/bottom corner of a video clip, without having to recompress?

I have a Virtualdub add-on, but that filter forces Vd to want to recompress. I've Googled over a long period of time, either software that doesn't do what it says, or is plain messy. There must be something out there that can do such an apparently simple little thing?

If anyone has any suggestions, it would be very appreciated!

It was a long time ago since I used it in college, but I seem to remember Adobe Premier would do this...

    Nope, afraid not.

Well, not if you want to use MPEG, AVI, regular WMV or anything like that.

In theory, if you use a file and container format that supportes overlay bitmap streams (like QuickTime Pro, VOB i.e. a DVD), so basically you are moving from video editing to multimedia creation.

If you can match the original encoding setting, and you only want it at the start or end (but not at the bottom corner, which requires modifying the stream hence recompress), then you could *THEORETICALLY* append the stream in virtualdub (don't think it need recompression) or mkvmerge (output will be in mkv format)
