    Turning off pc?

Well im wondering if you can setup something to turn off the pc(or standby) after X amount of time but do it safely?. I remember setting up a button before but i think it wasnt good for programs that were downloading (e.g. linux on utorrent).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Re: Turning off pc?

I use a program called Switchoff.

    http://yasoft.km.ru/eng/switchoff/

It works well. I have it turn my PC off at 1:30 in the morning so that I can access shared drives when I'm using the laptop in bed but I don't want to get up, come downstairs and shut it down myself.

    Re: Turning off pc?

if you're a minimalist like me and you don't like programs cluttering your pc, shutdown.exe works just fine from the command prompt. Have a look how to use it here.
