    Vista frustrations

Seriously thinking of giving up with my 64bit Vista. Get really annoyed with it at times , feel like doing a Basil Fawlty and hitting seven bells out of the PC. Problems are namely

1 Machine locks up/freezes for no apparent reason, requires a restart

    2. When been asleep for a while says my wireless card does not exist and that wireless driver
need re-installing, again a restart is required.

    3. Current new problem is a jittering cursor, when the little circle is doing its thing, it and the
cursor have an attack of the jitters.

    4. And finally if I try to attach a file to an email or maybe send a picture on an IM setup again the
whole thing freezes, not every time but a good percentage of the time.

Never had any probs with XP, though the Vista is now installed on a new PC so unsure if any of
these problems could be attributed to hardware as well, wouldn't want to go accusing Vista of something it is not responsible for!

    Re: Vista frustrations

I've been running Vista x64 Ultimate since it was released & the only problem I've ever had was with the early X-Fi drivers. Apart from that it's been solid. Never had any problems similar.

Anything in the event log? Other than that... the usual advice applies - chkdsk /r and memtest86++. Also double check temperatures.

    Re: Vista frustrations

Sounds like driver/application incompatability or a hardware issue.

As I said in a previous post, I've been using Vista x64 for some time now and would never go back to XP.

Even my company has gone Vista

I suspect it doesn't like some of your hardware - will be hard tracking it down but suggest removing the wireless card then seeing if your problems persist. Vista 64 is rock solid once it's up n running!

Good to hear things like "Vista 64 is rock solid once it's up n running!" as I'm going to make the leap to Vista 64 over Christmas.
