slow mouse

my mouse slows right down to a stop every now and again.
when i open task manager there is no cpu activity im running xp sp3 and it usually happens when using firefox.
is this a known problem?

A couple of quick questions for you.

• Which version of Firefox are you using?
• Have you got any Firefox plugins installed?
• Have you got Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware installed? Are they both upto date?
• Does the slow down occur when the Firefox is open? Or when the computer has been on for a while?
• Have you checked the Event Viewer?

Lastly, try keeping the Task Manager open all the time and minimize it to the System Tray. That way you can see CPU activity at the point you notice the mouse slowing down, not after you've opened the Task Manager.

That's pretty surprising, as normally the mouse has very high CPU priority. It could be when lots of evil flash ads are reaming your system.

Is your mouse of the bluetooth kind btw?

hi yeah the mouse is bluetooth
firefox beta3.0.4 ( but it happened when running normal 3.0)
avg antivirus
malware spyware
it doesnt do when i boot into ubuntu?

will keep tm open and see what i can see.
