How to clone/copy my c: drive??

I'm in the market for a bigger hard drive, but would really rather not have to reinstall the OS and all my applications. So can anyone give me some advice on how to copy/clone (what's the difference) my c: drive on to a new drive, and get that up and running?

    Any help gratefully received

I think Norton Ghost can do this.

Re: How to clone/copy my c: drive??

If you have at least 1 HDD that is Seagate or Maxtor, Seagate's site has a free version of Acronis.

There's also XXCopy and EASEUS Partition Manager and then another one that I can't unforget atm that will clone to a larger HDD only.

Re: How to clone/copy my c: drive??

just did it today with Acronis

add new larger drive, told acronis to clone to new drive, then removed old drive once finished. As simple as!

    always works for me
One can never stop saying Thank You

Re: How to clone/copy my c: drive??

    Thanks for the advice.

I have one of these on order from ebuyer, I currently have a Seagate drive and have downloaded the free copy of Acronis from the Seagate website. So hopefully it will be straightforward.

I use PING - Partimage is not ghost. Really simple and free. Supports backing up to DVD and/or Network Share.

He is been intentionally un-helpful because your not using his favourate OS.

You could look at using a 'LiveCD' from a linux/bsd distrobution, but i'd not recomend it because its easy to mess up all your data, and it sounds like a simple tool would be a safer bet for you.
