Not sure what to make of the new taskbar yet, looks a bit.....strange. Some interesting screenshots there.

according to this photo it's gonna be capped to 7.9.
It's fat, I hate major UI changes... unless they're actually useful or cool.

No it won't be, at least not for us. We will still use super pi/3d marks etc for comparing systems. Only noobs would find it useful for deciding which PC to get in PC World.

Windows 7 on my PC
been using it about 3 hours now, it's a LOT more responsive than Vista and just 'works' haven't had any issues at all yet, and it's a pre-beta install..

You can turn that on and off it seems, from the first post's link it shows the taskbar options in one of the screenshots (hide icon labels)
phew that honestly worried me for a second.... Next time i look at a screenshot of pre-release candidate software, and make a silly assumption that just makes me look stupid to anyone who's remotely informed, i shall write an article for Bit-Tech where that kinda stuff belongs..... (not that i'm bitter)

Actually, according to the Vista devs' blog, the new taskbar is only 10 pixels taller than Vista's.
