DVD copying software - not for films though

Trying to copy mine and the wife's wedding DVD so other people can watch it over and over again like the wift does.

Anyone recommend a good (maybe free) program!

Simple copy of one to a blank.

i can't think of any free copying programs, but you could use imgburn to make an image of the disc on your computer and then use imgburn to burn the image to whatever you want, that way, you also have a digital backup

If it's not encrypted, copy it to the HD then simply burn it back to a new disk. There are no special tools required.

However - are you sure you have the right to copy it? Even though you own a copy, you may not have the rights to replicate it.

Poweriso FTW!! You can then mount the image on a virtual cd drive (which can be done on the freeware version) and watched like a dvd, but like taktak said, use a different imaging program as the iso size you can image on poweriso has restrictions (unless you've paid o/c)

    QFT

Wedding photographers and videographers do usually retain the rights to the source so copying it would be a no no legally.

If you do have the rights however, then yes, you can just drag the VIDO_TS folder to your dektop then burn that to a regular blank DVD and away you go. No special software is needed.

Do I have the rights to copy my own wedding video!!! Like I would care or listen if the camera man said otherwise.

My wedding, we paid him, he can do swivel for all I care if it causes him a problem, anyhow it was in Poland and he was polish, so he'd never know.

My favourite program of choice lately has been ImgBurn. Brilliant and lightweight. No more Nero bloat for me!

Img Burn gets the vote here as well as its free - although there is loads of good software available that will do this

Re: DVD copying software - not for films though

Downloaded Imgburn last night and used it. Seemed ok, although kept popping up with alerts to wanting to re-encode the dvd.. But worked....

Anyone know a good DVD case design program. I use the software that came with my Canon pritned to do the DVD discs , but need someone good for the DVD cases

Or... he could sue. If he owns the rights then you could be setting yourself up for a fall.

Think of it like the school photographer coming in to do your kid's photos - it's your kid, but they own the images and if you want more you have to pay for more.

Perhaps that's why they cost so much? Anyhoo, getting way off-topic now.

So you think a Polish camera man is going to really care if I copy my own wedding DVD because he made it......

Only the English and Americans are so obsessed with sueing everyone for everything, Rest of the world ain't so anal.

The right to sue someone should be against the law, so fat people who sue Macdonalds for not realising a cup of tea would be hot, or for the chav who tripped on a pavement because they couldn't be bothered to lift their feet up and look where they were going can be locked up or further moor shot for wasting good air....

    Tee hee, rant over.

DVDshrink can only copy to DVD's if you have Nero burn Rom installed.
