    Internet Explorer and virus/malware protection

Can anyone reccomend a product that bolts into Internet Explorer, not just a generic anti virus product, that scans what you try to download or what a website attempts to install into the browser for viruses and malware ?.

I'm not sure what's out there and need to find something for a shared PC at home (Win XP). It logs on automaticaly as an Administrator (for various reasons) so anyone using it can install whatever.

I've had things get past AVG 8 so I want something specificaly for IE 7 that will nicely lock it down.

Running your browser as an administrative user is going to cause you problems. How about we help you fix the reasons that you need to do that?

That said - Kaspersky integrates well with the browser, however I maintain that your best course of action is to lock the browser down.

It maybe worth installing Sandboxie (http://www.sandboxie.com/) and runing IE within this.

Sandboxie isolates whatever is running within it, so if anything gets through it can't do anything malicous.

Edit: Sorry I've just noticed that it now costs 22 euros, used to be free (but I guess that would have been beta).

Sorry to quote a generic virus guard but mcafee security suite does that.

If you want to stop malware I recomend a combination of spyware blaster and spybot search and destroy (don't install tea timer with spybot though because it informs you of every little change and you have to keep clicking on the pop-up boxes).
