Red face Clearing Certificate Cache in Firefox

I've got Firefox 0.8 and to cut a long story short it things the SSL cert for my gateway is invalid. Unlike the lovely IE6 that doens't care that much, Firefox straight up won't let me on the damn thing.

So, how do I clear the cert cache?

    Cheers,
    Kez.

You need to download and install the extension "Things They Left Out"
    http://texturizer.net/firefox/extensions/#ttlo

I have not used the security certificates feature, and it does say this section is provisional, but I assume it works. Anyway, once installed it is to be found under (Tools ->) Options, Advanced, Manage Certificates, which gives you all kinds of options, including delete.

Are all the tabs blank? My Authorities tab has items in, but the others are blank. Perhaps the feature does not work properly. Can you import a valid certificate? As I said I have not actually had cause to use this feature before.

Yes all tabs but the authories tab are blank, and they're preset cert authentication addresses. I haven't tried to import any certs - don't have any to import and would have no idea where to find the ones I'm supposed to have already.

Guess that means the certificate option does not work properly.

Clutching at straws here but, you tried creating another Mozilla profile and using that? Perhaps even deleting your current profile, and creating a new one. Run Firefox with the -P switch. (I think deleting your Mozilla profile will delete your Mozilla bookmarks.)

You looked under the "Validation" options? I do not know what the settings mean but it might be worth a play. Although it'll probably turn out they do nothing.

I tried Google, all I could find was "The Certificates section is provisional and will be changed or removed in future releases. It is not covered in this document. Please consult the Mozilla help system for more information about the various options available here." Ref. What is the "Mozilla help system"?

EUREKA! I FOUND THE SOLUTION!!! (Firefox 0.8)

    Go to Tools, Options.
    Click advanced
    Click the [+] beside "certificates"
    Click "Manage Certificates"
    Go to the Authorities Tab
Go down until you find "Unknown".
    Delete the appropriate server's certificate.

    Voila.

    Well that's stupid, but thanks!
