Ive got a windows XP disk, with SP1 slipstreamed onto it.
Is there a quick way of finding out all of the "patchs" that have been releases that go on top of SP1, downloading them all, and slipstreaming them onto the windows installation disk ?
Dont tell me to wait for SP2 please, ive got some machines which need to be done very soon !

Or are you thinking in terms of keeping it all on CD?
Dynamic updates got me all excited..... then I checked and there isn't any available :(
I get 41 results when checking for XP Pro SP1 (11 critical / security, 23 multi-language and 7 recommended). I get a lot more for 2000 SP4.Quote:

can individual updates be slipstreamed onto the winxp image ?, if so, i suppose i could just integrate everyone into the image. Ill need some help writing a batch file for this though, as I'm not entirely familiar with them
Read the instructions - You have to select to download "DYNAMIC UPDATES" - what you're getting is the option to download individual hotfixes.Quote:

Actually... Just reading your original post again - are you building new machines or just doing a fresh install? Becuase if they're using the same / very similar hardware you can just install and update one machine and use ghost (or similar) to copy the complete image onto the other hard drives. It can be done if they're using different hardware but you'll need to minimise any problems (i.e. use the microsoft software IDE driver and uninstall most of the devices from the computer (using device manager) before you take the image). And then you'll have to re-install all the drivers on each machine and you'll probably run into one or two problems (basically it's *much* easier if you have identical hardware)
