    Windows XP OEM

I believe the OEM version is tied in to the BIOS in some way.

    Can anyone elaborate on this.

For example can I remove XP-OEM from one machine and install it on another or can I update a XP-home PC to XP pro.

    Thanks in advance

Erm, its not tied into the BIOS in any way We get the OEM Versions of XP Home/Pro, and the 200x Server Series, and its just the unboxed version, no difference at all

XP OEM support is meant to be handled by your PC manufacturer rather than MS so you are not entitled to have any free official MS support (other than what is in the knowledgebase etc.).

Both XP Home & Pro have activation built into them.
The licence only allows you to use it on 1 pc at once but there is nothing that prevents you from changing which PC it is on.
