Where can I download the windows 7 beta??
Read here:
"For some reason Microsoft is delaying public access to the beta for a day - maybe to give us journos a head start - and you'll be able to download it on Friday at www.Microsoft.com/windows7."

Its on MSDN/Technet already but the servers are understandably being hammered to death.
Thanks, I had read the Hexus report on it, and spent ages looking on the microsoft site for it.
Will be back on on Friday, then the virtual PC will be fired up
its on the newsgroups you'll get it at full speed there
i'll be VMing this over the weekend.

I don't like WMP 12 though, i preferred 11. The lack of menu bar is disturbing.. (just feels unnatural having a "separate" interface for playing and library. And WHY are there still no decent visualisations?? This baffles me that windows is all slick and so forth, fancy transparent windows, funky desktop effects.. but the visualisations in media player is still the crap they shipped 98 with. At least Apple have the good sense to make new ones - sort it out Balmer! It's almost depressing having a pixellated graphic when everything else looks so good.
That said, it feels great - i've upgraded from XP to see what it's like and i'm pretty impressed so far. Firefox and Thunderbird both imported app data seamlessly, live apps work as they should. Games are also running ok
Just got to figure out how to get dreamscape type stuff working..
The window features are impressive though, not sure if this was in Vista (having never used it!), but dragging a window to the top to maximise seems very intuitive - if not really saving much time. As is the handy drag to the side to fill up half the screen. Certainly removes the problem of accidentally closing a window you meant to maximise!
The taskbar is pretty cool, not as annoying as i thought it would be, certainly. Jump-lists work nicely, very convenient for some applications!
All my peripherals installed automatically without much hassle, my printer worked straight away (canon) and i assume my MS webcam will work too.
everything works well im not going to push it too hard but signs are good i guess.
