    Red face MS thinks MS Office is better then Open Office (no, really!)

    Suprisingly, MS has composed a document stating why MSOffice beats Open Office.

    Found it on /.

    http://members.microsoft.com/partner...OpenOffice.pdf

    Now, I use Office a lot at college and I use the same features as I did when office 97 was around. I have never used a macro for anything other then project work. So, it seems that for somebody who has used Office for quite a while, I'd be just as well off with Open Office.

    The only problem I have with OO is that the web site composer is crap - but so is Front Page - that's what DreamWeaver is for (or EditPlus.)

    Anyway, I laughed when it was suggested the MSOffice was better protected against viruses than OO, and that production is slower with OO. The only reason for that is because everything experiences MS locking. If people took a little bit of time to familarise themselves with OO they'd be sorted.

    I'm not saying OO is perfect, but I like punching holes in PR crap that MS releases.

    edit: LMAO! This gets better, the pdf was made in QuarkExpress 4.11 and published as pdf using Acrobat Distiller 4.05 for Macintosh!

    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    One thing I would like to see in OO, and I accept that OO has a little while to go before it catches up with every little feature in Office, is in the spreadsheet. In Excel I can specify a list of values in a hidden column somewhere, then use that list to populate a combo within a cell, limiting the user to selecting one of the values in the combo.
