    RAM Screwups

This is a new build btw..Ill start with some specs:
    780i Striker II Forumula Motherboard
Q6600 (Unoverclocked for now, god knows how i do it on this MB)
    8GB of OCZ Gold RAM

Timings and such are all default (auto) and changing them to lower than auto makes no difference:

Starting vista and Vista recovery disc does the same thing:

2GB (One ram stick): Perfect, no problems.
4GB (2 ram sticks): Hangs on the Bios, where the Drives would normally be listed.
6GB (3 ram sticks): Will attempt to load vista, but hang on a black screen and then crash.
8GB (4 ram sticks): Will attempt to load vista, but hang on a black screen and then crash.

Im on Vista SP1, latest updates.

I cannot start safe mode, since it hangs and restarts when loading crcdisk.sys

    any clues whatsoever?

    I'll hazard a guess...

Faulty ram? NB can't handle the ram?

Have you tried each individual stick on the board to check if one of the sticks are faulty.

    Re: RAM Screwups

It works starting XP with 8GB and it works when i limit the RAM usage in msconfig to 2GB (Recognises all 8GB but only uses 2GB).
