    Itunes Sharing

(Couldn't decided if this came under networking or software so if it needs moving could a mod move it please)

I've got a couple of friends who live in the same flat together and want to share their itunes music on one pc as they're setting up a server soon to save it all on.

They want to have all their music to be on the server but for it to be like it's stored locally so they can sync from it and any downloads are saved from it.

I suggested that they install itunes on their server and saved all their music to it under one libary.
Then they install itunes on each pc that wants to access it and start it up by holding down shift and then selecting the already installed itunes libary on the server.

Would this work or is there a much simplier way.

Just share the folder containing the music over the network and then map the folder to a drive and then set itunes to use it as the music folder and to import all the music.

However you will need to get itunes to add any music which is added to the server to the library either by re scanning or dragging it into itunes.
