    Windows 7 Drivers

Only drivers i seem to be having a problem with are

Wireless USB, bascially its a cheapo Dynamode usb pen bought on ebuyer, no longer for sale and cant find drivers even on there website.

So only other option my dynamode homeplug which wont connect lol....... so basically im learning the issue of dont buy cheap stuff.

But i really want to try windows 7 with internet god dammit.

Suppose ill have to get some wires up to my computer from router downstairs.

Have you tried the Vista drivers? People seem to be reporting good results from Vista drivers on stuff without specific W7 drivers available as yet.

I used the Vista drives for my USB wifi stick and my TV card - both work well.

Anyone had any issues with ATI cards and Windows 7 x64? I seem to one of the few who can't run above 4 gigs, otherwise the driver doesnt load.

Considering windows 7 is actualy windows 6.1 in disguisem then I would assume alot fo Vista compatible drivers should work.

    Re: Windows 7 Drivers

Only one I'm having trouble with is a 64bit driver from a USB>serial>headphone connector adaptor that my diabetes blood glucose monitoring kit connects to.... I'd be using 7 day to day on all my machines if it weren't for that critical, life saving piece of hardware that I absolutely have to have!

The verified and signed Vista x64 driver doesn't play ball, even though 7 installs it. Previous dealings with the metre manufacturer (Lifescan) gives me the impression they won't give a stuff about 7 (32bit or 64bit) as they certainly don't about Vista x64, forcing me to get the driver from the underlying OEM manufacturer (Prolific, who don't have a 7 version available yet).

The 8.12 drivers have a bug on some systems it seems, both in Vista x64 and W7 x64 (with the W7 Preview drivers, based on the 8.12s). My home system (see left) isn't affected, but my PC at work is.

The 8.11 drivers don't suffer from this problem, so I'd imagine it's just a temporary glitch until 9.1 and the equivalent W7 version come along any time now.

Temporary fixes are to either physically remove some RAM or to limit the available RAM via msconfig (I remember seeing that 3072mb works, apparently - no idea on more than that), which may be the best option if you're dual-booting.

Looks to be an incompatibility between the 8.12 drivers and recent Intel northbridges containing the memory controller.

Yeah I went for the remove 4 gig's of ram option, which is a shame as I haven't actually been able to run all 8 gigs of my ram until now. I hope when my 4850 arrives the issue will disappear

    Re: Windows 7 Drivers

I can not get my Ethanet drivers to work, but i have it on a MB that is a tad too old really.

I might try windows 7 on my new PC when I can get around to it with a spare hard drive.

Does your USB device have an FCC ID on it? If so post that as it should help us identify it. If not, bin it as it's probably breaking with standards.

    Re: Windows 7 Drivers

it should be on the body of the device somewhere, possibly on the circuit board itself. If so enter it at http://driverzone.com/fcc_id_search.htm and it should tell you what it is.
